And just briefly to describe it, if you've never heard us talking about it or you don't know what we're talking about, it's red split lentils, which you can find at any grocery store, combined with a lot of aromatics and spices.
So you saute a base of onions, carrots, celery, garlic, and ginger together.
To that, you add turmeric, and I like to add garam masala or some kind of spice blend, coriander.
I think it's also the cinnamon and sometimes clove.
Yes.
It's warming spices in there.
And then coriander, cumin, tomato paste for, you need that for umami, two cans of coconut milk, water.
And then at the end, the other big tip is to always squeeze a little lime or lemon juice on top.
And that brings out all the flavor.
It adds just another, it's not too lemony or too citrusy.
Lentils really like acidity.
So this is such a beginner-friendly recipe.
It's something, like I said, I taught to teenagers, some of them who never cooked before.
And it's another one of those things I love.
It's like I get to go keep sharing this in the world.
I bring it to people if they're sick.
I make it all throughout the cooler months.
It's so warming.
And I always think of you when I make it.
Yeah.
