Yeah, very nervous.

A couple of things, looking back at it, really helped me out.

I had a lot of players similar age to me who were coming through the same sort of system and all three teams trained together.

So we had three teams.

So we had our Colts, which is sort of like your under 21s, and then you had your reserve grade and your first grade team.

But all three teams trained together.

On a Tuesday night, all three teams would do drills together.

You'd only split up on captain's run.

Thursday, we'd train together or train against each other.

And then, yeah, it was only captain's run where you'd split up.

So I was around a lot of people my same age as me.

And then, and I lived in Point Chevrolet, and around the corner who lived from me was Tia Ropati.

So he'd always pick me up for training.

So he'd always call me young fella and that, and he'd get in the car and we'd talk and talk about, not just footy, just things in general in life.

The first house I ever bought was Tia's house.

I don't know if he gave me a deal.

But I felt comfortable with him going to training with Tia as a 17-year-old, and he'd just make me feel very welcome.
