And I remember at the time, and I was studying at AUT over the shore, and I was doing like a diploma in sports science.

And I think I lasted six months because the Warriors were becoming full-time the following year.

And I remember the CEO, Ian Robson, at the time said, we're going full-time next year.

You've got to push that aside.

So I kind of wish they had given me the opportunity to finish it.

and do that and not become full time.

All we did when we became full time was train in the morning, play golf in the afternoon.

Yeah, very good.

I had a really good childhood.

Again, we grew up around the Ponsonby area, Westmere, Grey Lynn.

So I got to go to St.

Paul's, a very small school, a rugby league school, and then the club I played for, the Pointe Chevalier Pirates.

So it was a really tight-knit group, and my mother was always part of the committee there and through the schoolboys, and my father was...

He was manager of the team at the time.

So my parents, sorry, getting back to my father as a farmer, he moved back to the family farm about 20 years ago, around when I sort of retired or moved to France.

So we grew up in Auckland, but they instilled just real good support.

I was very fortunate to have parents and wider family too.

I had an auntie and uncle.

who I'm really close to, who supported me really well.

And then obviously my grandparents were around quite a bit on both sides of mum and dad's parents.
