So, when I came back to New Zealand, Ivan got me involved in a bit of coaching with the halves and just some general stuff.

But with the younger guys coming through, it was a couple of times a week.

If they needed someone to fill in and run a pose against them, Ivan would always say, Stace, can you jump in there?

And then there was a conversation, I think it was about a month to go in the season or six weeks, and Ivan said, look, I think you should consider coming back and playing.

I'm like, Ivan, come on.

And then he just said, look, no pressure.

I was 32 at the time.

I knew that I'd done my time playing in France, ready to come home, and I didn't expect this to happen.

But John Hart was a big part of that too, the conversations around all of that, and he made me feel comfortable around it.

There was no pressure on me to do it, even though there probably was, but not for me to feel it.

And I look back at it, and I did the pre-season with Craig Walker, who was the trainer at the time, and I remember what I had to put my body through.

It was pretty tough.

It was tough going.

And I got myself in good shape, and yeah, I just sort of went from there.

And I didn't expect to play as many games as I did.

2023, I think you ended up.

Yeah.

I just expected to play a handful of games.

Yeah.

But yeah, look, results wise, it was tough.
