That was gonna give him uh a leg up this year to to be able to handle it and take the step kind of like Matt Savoy did.
There are going to be people, maybe even his campaign, certainly his supporters, who say this is politically motivated.
What would you say to that?
yeah definitely we know we were going through for several weeks we were working on that and trying to find the right match for uh for darnell and also that would be a good fit for us um and when you go through that process and there's often times when it didn't look like there was a pathway forward for us to be able to do this but
I think getting the deal done to not retain any of the salary was very crucial for us.
And that's where San Jose came in.
You know, they have a different salary cap structure than us.
They're a team that's building and they don't have as many commitments as a lot of other teams do.
So it lined up well.
And then the return was also something that was really appealing to us to get a couple defensemen back that we think highly of.
Yeah, we're having conversations today.
We've had multiple discussions with players.
I think if this is where we end up, I like our group.
That's what I was going to ask you.
We've got flexibility.
We've got a lot of different roles.
We've also got depth on defense, which is huge.
We've got depth in goal.
I think the forward position is probably the one where if we're going to make an addition, it'll probably be up front.
