I don't see us adding a defense or a goalie.
But I like our forward group right now.
There's a little bit of everything in there when you
mix in some of the younger players and the experience but so we have cap room and that'll continue to grow you know accrue over the season so we haven't been in this position the two years I've been here where we've had
Going into the year, we're going to have a good amount of cap space.
Whether we add a player or not in the next few days, we're still going to have a lot of cap room.
So I think it gives us the ability to pivot in season if players come available, whether it's through trade or on waivers.
Things happen every year.
Players you never expected would be available.
But it's difficult when you have no cap room.
It's hard to really make those deals happen.
So I think we're going to be better positioned this year.
Yeah, I think you can't really start the conversation without acknowledging what a huge member of this team that Darnell was for so many years.
Such a competitor on the ice, incredible teammate, incredible member of the community, very durable.
he didn't miss many games in his time here he always gave it his best and stood up for his teammates so we're definitely going to miss that element and those are tough those are tough conversations i know darnell you know takes some criticism and a lot of that's unfair so i think when you step back from all that you recognize
how great of a guy he is and an important player he was.
So we wish him well, and we wish his family well there in a new opportunity, and hopefully it's a fresh start for him and things are great.
And for us, where we were, there's no question that our salary cap is a challenge, and we have so much more flexibility now.
So that deal took some time to come together.
