It's not whether the guy likes you, doesn't like you.
Does he go out there and perform?
If he does, the player-coach relationship's outstanding.
If he doesn't, he may be saying, God, this guy's my favorite coach ever, and he's playing like crap.
Then the player-coach relationship isn't working.
The personal relationship may be, but not the player-coach relationship.
And I think a lot of people in the media get that wrong.
Like, they just want to go ask, do you like a guy?
Do you not like a guy?
And then, you know, the players in the locker room don't like him whatsoever.
Really?
Well, his team's winning all the time.
So something's working.
And Eric has understood that from the get-go.
And listen, human nature, we all want everybody to like us.
I mean, it's not like he doesn't care.
I think people, when he makes a comment like that, people will think he doesn't care if people like him.
Of course he cares.
He's just able to look past that and understand that's not what's important here in the business of me coaching the team.
Oh God, that's a hell of a question.
