43-year-old Nathan Matthews of Lincoln, Nebraska, was in a group of firefighters caught by a large wildfire in late June.
Though the crew opened their individual fire shelters, three died in that spot in rough terrain near the Utah border.
Matthews was one of two firefighters badly injured.
Two weeks later, a pilot helping fight a different large wildfire died in a helicopter crash.

It's the latest in a series of evacuation orders for the fire that started June 27th outside the mountain town of Ouray.
Though the quaint community was spared, the fire's been burning largely uncontained through the surrounding farmland and rugged high alpine terrain.
It's one of several large wildfires in Colorado that grew over the weekend.
