So I think a lot more people are questioning now, but this conversation around wireless radiation is such an important one because there's so many things at stake right now.

Specifically, we have that bill, HR 2289,

which right now is on pause thanks to a lot of action with Maha.

They had a rules committee hearing that was supposed to happen in April, and we squashed that, thank God.

But that bill essentially looks to take away any of the local control that's left.

So right now, Section 704 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 eliminated...

local communities from considering the impacts of wireless radiation when it comes to your health and the environment, which are two very important things.

We don't have the ability to do that right now.

So what we do have in local communities is the ability to look at the aesthetics, historic preservation, and property values.

Fire safety, zoning permits, those are things that we can still look at in local communities.

HR 2289, what it's looking to do is basically eliminate any regulation and just be able to fast track these technologies.

So essentially, just like in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, you wouldn't know that a cell tower is coming until those trucks show up to start clearing ground and building that infrastructure.

And they want to take away infrastructure.

the ability for people to have those meetings in their communities at their local boards so no one would have a voice.

And let's face it, federal preemption in this situation, the federal government does not know these local communities the way that the residents and the local government does.

So they're best suited to make decisions about where cell towers should and should not go.

And the fact that we're trying to eliminate them from the discussion and just fast track the deployment of all of this infrastructure when the guidelines that we're looking at are 30 years old and have not been updated since then.

is insane to me.

Senator Ted Cruz leads up the committee that's in charge of this.

And some of the people in our group had a meeting with them last week, and not him specifically, but his staffer.
