And they've not had any of these problems.
And in fact what we've seen in New York State is a is an improvement in the quality of care that's provided in that state.
Well, I I think in the first instance, you've got to empower the hospitals.
You've got to put the information in the hospitals so that the the clinicians, you know, many of them don't know where they stand, and many of them don't know whether they're the best in the state or the worst in the state.
And so you've got to give them the information so they can improve.
And then uh my view is you've put the information in the public domain and you and you and what we've seen in other countries is that hospital the patients
Patients don't use that information very much, they don't use it to choose hospitals, but the hospitals look at it and the hospitals get worried if you're in the bottom of the pack and they actually have an incentive then they have a a real drive uh to improve the quality of care they provide.
Yeah, well there's a lot of wasted time in clinical governance, Norman.
And so they you know, they they they bury they, you know, burrow down l little rabbit holes which actually don't lead to significant improvement and they spend a lot of make work going to committee meetings and f clipboards and all this sort of stuff.
What we're saying is hospitals ought to know what their problems are and they oughta focus on those problems and lift their game.
And and that would actually
use clinicians' time much better.
Uh they're looking at a ragbag of uh of topics, uh both the structure of the health system generally and and chronic illness and so on, but also looking at specifically at out of pockets and also value for money in private health insurance.
