If by 2030 we want to deliver 300,000 homes or look at it another way.
We need to home 750,000 people.
How do we deliver it?
I want the units delivered to house 750,000.
So what do you need removed from the system?
If that's the outcome we need at the end of it, what do we need to remove the system?
Judicial reform review is one of the key things.
Zoning of residential development land and reforming the national planning framework.
That's another key component.
Taking time out of the system, taking bureaucracy out of the system, taking where there is delays, streamline those delays and let people make decisions and take risk and reward them for that risk.
But if someone gets something wrong, if nine out of 10 things go right, don't pillory them for the one mistake they make.
And that's where we've turned it.
It's easier now to say no than to do something.
You know, we're not willing to take.
And do you think civil servants have a propensity for inaction?
But the system doesn't allow it.
Like, if you're a civil servant, the safest space is if you don't have to make a decision, you're not going to get blamed if nothing goes wrong.
