It's like they threw everything into the groove.
Yeah.
And they did the same with Carry On Cowboy.
It wasn't a send up of High Noon or Annie Oakley or something.
It was like every, every Western cliche.
And this one had every horror cliche just thrown in.
It sort of does, yes.
Well, actually, I would recommend a trip to Castle Acre, the location for the Tomb of Lygia, especially if you go very early in the morning or late in the evening.
And I've done both.
And it really is incredibly atmospheric, especially if you're on your own as well.
It's an amazing place.
And it does sum up that whole sort of Gothic media, really.
It's rather beautiful.
In terms of films, though, I would steer someone in the direction of The Innocents, which is Jack Clayton's film of Henry James' Turn of the Screw.
were co-written by Truman Capote.
Ordinary piece of work.
He added all the sort of Southern Gothic elements to it, because there's a lot of decaying flowers and things in that film.
It's a brilliant film, and it just looks ravishing.
I totally agree.
The Night of the Demon I would recommend, which is a modern take on an M.R.
