Like I'm on Hot Ones, and he just uncovered a question from deep in the depths.
Yeah, so I was born in France.
My parents were missionaries there for 13 years.
My dad was from Detroit, a baseball-loving guy, and he had taught us the game.
But I really had no access to Major League Baseball at that point in the early 90s.
And so...
My first experience watching a Major League Baseball game that I can remember was when we had borrowed someone's TV and my dad had got a hold of a copy of Joe Carter's Walk Off Homer, that whole game.
And it was us sitting there in the attic.
I don't know why we were in the attic, but we were.
of this house in Ypres, France, and watching the whole game down to the very, very last pitch of Philly's Blue Jays.
And that was as cool as it got.
And I remember in years after that, watching...
Just random World Series games we would catch in years later.
So we didn't have a TV, didn't have, of course, cable or anything like that.
So it was super scattered.
I would catch something from Major League Baseball itself, though we certainly played a ton of baseball.

The Jays' greatest moment was also my first moment really catching Major League Baseball.
