And so more appeared with, hang on, there's been an incredible run-up in those stocks.
We get caught in the backwash of that and the ASX 200 type stocks and the other, you know, the all odds and those sorts of indices here.
If the US has that bit of a correction, a bit of a pullback, a bit of a consolidation, if the Fed hikes interest rates over in the US because inflation is a problem there, that would be perhaps one of the triggers for a pullback in stock prices.
We'll be caught up in that.
So I'm a little bit downbeat on the stock market for the current financial year.
Again, not a crash, but...
You know, with housing turning down, not great for bank stocks, and they make up a huge proportion of our index.
So more down than up.
Look, the AI boom's here in terms of not necessarily in financial markets and individual company share prices.
Obviously, that's
been reflected in some of them but in terms of the actual macro economy the economics of the ai boom yes it's being implemented you know at a very rapid pace along uh among many sort of businesses that can can do it uh that's probably a very good thing for productivity just by the way however there are other implications on uh employment and again from the ai firms how they actually monetize it in a meaningful way to validate where their share prices have gone over the last couple of years
Yeah, it's a China story.
The Chinese economy remains in this demographic transition, if we can call it that, that their population growth is flat to slightly lower.
There's still an excess, a significant excess of property over there from the construction boom of years gone by.
Sounds funny for an Australian to talk about an excess of property.
So there's going to be a little bit of a drag, I think, on both the volumes and prices of the exports that we have.
And in fact, just last week, we saw the international trade data as one small thing.
We saw exports are really quite weak.
They're down about 10% from where they were a couple of years ago.
