Gangesha is uh it's important to to know from the get go that he's a member of the long running school of philosophy known as Nyaya.
And and and Nya Nya he's in the fourteenth century.
Nyaa gets going really early, uh probably uh more than fourteen hundred years before him.
There's some there's some dispute about the
uh uh the date of the earliest nyaya text called the nya sutra
Um but
Um you know, maybe
One hundred B C E or one hundred.
C E uh and and there's been a long tradition of development of Nya where uh

Try to stay true to the core principles, core positions of Nya, but they also expand and elaborate and sometimes totally innovate.
Gangesha is famous in in classical circles as the originator of what's called Nu Nyaya, Navy Nya.
But
I've thought a lot about that topic, and and some scholars think that his predecessor, Udayan, who lived a couple of centuries before he did.
was really the great innovator of Navianaya.
But no, every every Nyaya philosopher Nyaya philosophers called the Nayaka, every Nyaka
innovates to some extent and also continues the positions that have been inherited from predecessors.
So um so uh the the the very distinction of Navy Naya is somewhat problematic and and some later some later nyaya philosophers uh uh count uh Gangesha as part of old nyayapra
Nyaya, uh and only Ragunath, uh someone about two centuries later than Gargesha, as the real uh uh innovator of uh what's called
Uh well that that that's a tough question.
