Uh the whole last part of the inference chapter, which has not been talked about very much, is concerned with the concept of bodhika.
I mentioned the Zanskri.
There's a great
English cognate bodika.
Defeater.
A blocker.
It blocks.
uh a blocker of knowledge.
And sometimes you have standing defeaters, but sometimes, I don't know, uh you say uh everything uh uh that is earthen is s is scratchable by iron.
And uh you have a lot of inductive evidence for that.
But then diamonds are s discovered and so that that's a defeater of the of the uh the thepti that permits uh in inference.
That is much as much concerned with it.
uh in in in the inference chapter.
So by putting all the chapters together you can sort of see I think this this is uh a point that not m not many people have really appreciated that the whole layout of the epistemology has to do with sort of presumptive
uh acceptability of the beliefs embedded in fresh news, whether that come from perception or inference or testimony, and then
concern with uh what
uh might undercut
uh that belief.
