Well, so going back, let's go back to uh July uh twenty-third.
That's when we noticed uh four troops killed in action and dozens uh of wounded were removed uh from this list that had the accounting of troops uh killed and wounded in Iran.
And a day goes by.
Uh we asked the Pentagon uh what was going on.
Hey, wh why why are these numbers going down?
The acting Pentagon press secretary, uh Joel Valdez at the time told us there was uh
a technical problem with what's effectively a spreadsheet behind the scenes.
Uh fast forward to the following Sunday, uh there's this new category.
Originally everything was categorized under Operation Epic Freedom.
That's the the namesake the Trump administration has been using for the Iran War.
And now's there's this second bucket called Overseas Operations and all troops killed and wounded
Uh since uh July seventh.
That's when those daily hostilities kinda ramp back up with the collapse that ceasefire were counted in that bucket, separate uh from the uh Epic Fury count.
Yeah, so what some experts and uh what democrats are saying the reason they uh separated these two things uh uh before and after the ceasefire, and reminder there was a lot of fighting during that ceasefire.
But the administration sees uh July seventh as this uh this movement almost to an entirely new conflict.
That is uh an unprecedented understanding of how conflicts exist and evolve over time.
