And that goes back also to the reason they're doing this, and I don't understand the rationale.
So even on the housing stuff, if you look what they've done, now they've tried the situation where if you've already got a negative, so capital gains and negative gearing,
If you've got your own property that you own right now, you retain all the capital gains tax benefits, which is all sort of really cool.
But you now can't, okay, do you invest in a new property that you actually can't negative the gear, for example, so therefore it's unattractive?
Or do you improve this property that you'll never pay tax on?
So it'd be like the start of COVID where everyone sat at home, looked at their curtains and went, I'm going to renovate the house.
All of a sudden, every renovation tradesman's price went up.
You can still negative gear on new property, but all the tradesmen are busy doing this really good work over here.
So you've actually created more work for tradesmen, which will actually create less housing, to be quite honest.
So you've actually increased, you'd be more value pouring into current properties that people live in for another 20 years, which will soak up tradesmen, which means less tradesmen working over here, which will put the price of their labour up, which will put the price of their house up.
Root cause, right?
