He knew what it meant.
And he just didn't have to sell it.
And that was even more of an appreciation for
of him from me that he didn't have to, he didn't have to bring it out.
It was, it was delivered to him.
He said, if you do good stuff, other people will talk enough about it.
You don't have to talk about it yourself.
And that was just another nugget from him.
Well, yeah, he would come down.
I remember coming down and working with Neil Walker, not just the nuts and bolts of second base, but that was a treat for Neil just to spend time with Maz.
And he would come down to our fantasy camp, and I always remember he'd be coaching third base in the fantasy camp.
He would have a big cigar, just buffing on it.
But he loved all the aspects of it, and he was kind of our β
He was kind of the thing on the car, the hood ornament on the car of our alumni.
He was our guy.
And so it enhanced our alumni.
And Maz made appearances and appearances and appearances for the Pirates.
And Maz, he got it about life.
He understood the perspective, the ups and downs and how to present it and how to
how to enjoy it, but not have to.
