We believe in a president, not a dictator.
We believe that elections have consequences, that we decide
who leads, who has power, and that we believe in the freedom of speech, and we believe in the freedom of religion, and we believe in the separation of church and state, and we believe in these things without compromise.
And we're not going to negotiate them with Donald Trump.
And I think that we have to be able to see disagreement in good faith.
without backing up from the central proposition that our whole cornerstone of our society, our civilization, is rooted in the idea that we're all equal, endowed by a creator, however you conceive of him or her or whatever, with inalienable rights.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
That is what is at stake.
And that's what we have to stand up and we have to be for.
And when we look back on 20 years from now, when people say, wow, was it really that bad?
Did it really seem like you weren't going to get through with that?
And when you tell the story of how we got through it, the story of how we got through it is a story of patriotism where Americans put the most important identity that binds us together for which an American identity.
