So, I mean, I completely buy that that effect is real.

Um, but I'm not sure if that's an, an evolved tendency to, cause the evolved tendency, it's just a gut level reaction to cues of health and fertility.

i would i would argue rather than a tendency to think that that person's healthy and has good qualities that i would want to mix my genes with to create offspring um and so finding out that it is not a real signal i'm not sure if that would like i say i think that would does have the effect of reducing attractiveness judgments but i'm not sure if that we've evolved for that to be the case

I think it could be that.

I think it probably is something more general like that, just a general tendency to be wary of deception, I guess.

At a gut level.

I think it's so as well, actually.

And actually, I'm thinking maybe it's not deception exactly that reduces the attractiveness, but maybe the inferences that we make about the personality of the person.

A lot of narcissism, insecurity.

Exactly.

And they might be just as impressed by the looks, but we don't judge people just on looks.

And so the looks elevate it, the personality takes it down, but...
