It sounds pretty easy to do, but when guys don't follow the philosophy of getting ahead of these hitters or maybe getting a one-pitch out, which is also preferable because when you do strike out 11, you're going to get a high pitch count.
Credit him for going into the sixth inning.
I mean, it was a really strong performance, and he's just been great.
Whatever the resurgence is, and he said he tightened up his motion because at 6'6", it's very difficult to repeat that same motion over and over and over again.
But if you can't repeat the same motion, you don't have a command that Burke has been shown recently.
And the fact is he did it in a very big game, in a game that the Sox knew the bullpen was short.
They knew that he had to go deep in the game.
They had lost the first two of the series.
So credit Burke with getting him in a position to help win that.
And then, of course, the bullpen was just good enough.
Isert was terrific, maybe the best two innings he's thrown most of the year.
And then, you know, you looked at Grant Taylor coming in in that one, and a battle again of Rocchio and Taylor, which Rocchio won the first time, but he got him out the second time.
No, I mean, look, that is one philosophy, but I do believe that
They want him to get three games of swings in before the break.
But I don't think they want him to start those games in the major leagues after the break.
At least that's the plan that I think they're going to try to use first.
And then when he does come back after the break, he will have seen three games of major league pitching.
Oh, I think certainly the closeness of the division in the Central and the American League is something that nobody really...
figured out because everybody thought Detroit's going to win it.
