You know what?
To be honest with you, I think Mark Savard, you know, a smart hockey man.
He's a really, really good power play guy.
But it just felt like they were a little, you know, discombobulated.
They were just saying they were just not sure.
They probably didn't have any success early.
They didn't have any success early on and trying to fix things.
They were just trying to go in a bunch of different ways.
So for me, it was just to simplify, to be honest with you.
uh and i gave them and i gave them a voice i mean obviously um they are the you know the best players in the world and obviously with the toronto maple east with matthews and neilander and tabarez um you know you've got some really really elite talent there so for me it was just um you know give them a voice you know collaborate with them see what they feel i know how they they thought process you know put a game plan in place that we will follow that everybody will be on the same page as long
we're on the same page no matter you know what we're doing what's what's going to be you know the tricks that we're going to try to play or the set plays we're going to do we have an extra man so trying to just create two-on-ones all over the ice and there's you know I see it when I'm watching the video they feel it on the ice so they you know they would give me feedback in regards to what works what doesn't work and there was some buy-in from them and I think having early success like we did made that made the process a lot easier and then they just they just ran with it
I don't think it's going to change.
I think every single organization you talk to, they want vertical alignment from top to bottom, and we want to make sure that we continue with that.
We know why the American Hockey League exists.
It's to help the big club.
It's to help the National Hockey League team.
win a Stanley Cup.
And sometimes, you know, everybody's path to become a difference maker in the National Hockey League is different.
Some can just step in and hopefully, you know, a Gavin McKenna can just step in with his talent and be a difference maker for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
There might be some players that are late bloomers that are going to need some time to continue the development.
