You know, he wasn't a person who sent amazing diagonal balls.
It was his short, crisp passing and his ability to get around people.
He was terrific.
And Claudio mentioned it in his book that I'd hounded him to sign this play.
But once he got in there, you know, all the lads could see what he was capable of and he became part of it.
And he's probably the quietest man I've ever met in my life.
Just so quiet.
The lads will pull me out with that as well, I think.
Yeah, there's a story behind it that his agent couldn't, for one reason or another, come over to the UK.
So we used another agent and the other agent got in touch with him and brought him over.
Basically, we said, don't let that lad out of this room until he signed that post-bite.
But he got very, very friendly with Riyad, especially in training.
When the lads used to say, well, you'll never get past Kante to Riyad.
And then there was a bit of a competition between the two.
Yeah.
But they became very good friends.
Absolutely incredible.
We had Wes as captain, but we had another four captains to help him, I think.
And I didn't include Jamie.
And Kasper in that, for sure.
