And I think that the United States has awesome power.
But one reason why you should not want Big Bubba to have to come in and solve a problem in your neck of the woods is because we will break things and we will not own it and you will have to clean it up.
And that is the motivation that makes allies in the region have to invest in the capabilities and also have to invest in trying to avoid circumstances where Big Bubba feels like he's got to come in and break something.

Yeah, well, I guess the honest and sort of cop-out answer to that is they're all different.
So if you look at what was the relationship with Israel in that time, and it's a different mix of things today.
Back then, Israel was kind of our only capable ally that we were relying upon.
And if you look at what happened in the first Gulf War, all those scuds were going into Israel, and we did not have allies.
effective missile defense a lot of those scuds got through and there was damage inside israeli territory today we have thousands of ordinance that goes up into the air and most of it most of the time doesn't hit anything of consequence some gets through and then we have some damage to deal with but we're in a wildly different place in that regard
If we look at, like I alluded to earlier, the UAE at that time had minimal capability, had tons of Iranians doing things in their own territory.
But since that time, it has become the most outspoken definer of what is acceptable political rhetoric with regard to Islamism.
