I mean, it's not surprising in that that's always the surprising result of these surveys, that it's higher than you think.
That's why I'm just predicting it's going to be the same as it's been the last 20 years I've looked at these kinds of surveys.
But Cara is right.
As soon as you drill below the surface, because people support science in the abstract or maybe like the institution of science or the idea of science.
But as soon as you get to a specific issue, do you trust them on global warming?
Then you start to see the erosion or on vaccines.
I was just having a conversation with a friend the other day about this and brought up the fact that it always seems like the bad guys have the best slogans.
You know what I mean?
They have the best clothes too, Steve.
I know.
They always have the best fashion.
But I mean, lots of things which I completely disagree with, but too many, too soon.
It's like, okay, it's a bumper sticker.
It's a slogan.
People could wrap their head around it.
It sounds kind of commonsensically right.
It's complete bullshit.
But then if it takes you 10 minutes to explain why a pithy phrase is wrong, you've kind of lost the PR war, right?
