This is sort of conventional wisdom out there.
The Republicans are pretty much favorable to the fossil fuel industry.
How does the fossil fuel industry get their fossil fuel?
Geothermal.

No, from drilling.
From drilling.
They're already drilling.
So they don't care if they drill a hole and pump out oil or drill a hole and pump out geothermal energy.
It's all about the money, right?
But they are happy to shift over to geothermal because they already have the drilling infrastructure.
