Well, uh for those of uh of our listeners who uh are uh thirty-five years old or forty-five years old and maybe have not hit their uh stride yet, I was fifty-two before my first book was published.
That was The Legend of Bagger Vance.
So uh I definitely was a late bloomer.
I am a late bloomer.
Um
And um
I'll give you just a s like a short version of this.
My my first job was uh as a copywriter in an ad ad agency in New York City.
And I had a boss named Ed Hannibal.
And he wrote a novel.
And it was an overnight success.
And he became, you know, a star and he quit his job to become a writer.
So I was twenty-two years old and really and totally dumb.
And I thought, well, why don't I do that?
So uh
Uh anyway, like thirty years later I was an overnight success.
Oh just recently.
