The difference between a writer like me that has no boss and somebody that works for a job, as I have done many times, is at a job discipline is imposed on you from outside.
Like if we're in the army or we're in law enforcement or whatever it is, we have a boss, we have a uniform, we have a code, we have all that sort of stuff.
But once we become a solitary writer, like you're writing for magazines or whatever.
We're we could fuck off all day long if we wanted to, right?
Yes.
So now discipline becomes self discipline.
And that's another thing that's not taught in schools, and that's absolutely critical, I think, to any kind of success where we become
Our own sergeant or our own mentor, our own teacher, our own coach, and you know, self-talk and all that sort of stuff, and we and we develop.
That professional attitude that gets down every day and does the work no matter what.
