And um for uh our female listeners, I also would say that those virtues are the virtues of a mother.

Uh a mother who's pregnant
is bringing new life into the world, just like an artist that's, you know, creating a building or a sculpture or a movie or whatever.
And the mother
Um sets her own ego aside.
Everything is for this new life inside her, and even once the baby is born, a mother will run into a burning building.
to save her child, she'll you know lift a Buick with her bare hands.
You know, if that would so those same virtues, you know, courage, uh selflessness, um, the dedication to something other and greater than yourself.
are the are the virtues I think of a of a warrior, of an artist, or of a mother.
In fact, I've got a closet full of ITOA t shirts that he sent me.
Um okay.
Uh
You know, when you're a a professional writer
friends will come up to you all the time and say, you know, I've got a book in me.
You know, can you g give me some in you know, some advice?
And so I would kind of sit down with friends of mine, uh, you know, late at night and I would the first thing, forgetting about the craft of writing, I would just warn them
about this negative force that's floating in the air that I call resistance with a capital R.
