We would clearly like to have it before the draft and that's not to say that we're not well progressed with the work that we've done through this draft anyway but clearly we want the coach appointed by the end of the year and we want a list manager appointed through the end of the year but

But right now we're head down, bum up, making sure that we perform well week to week.

I think in fairness, mate, we haven't dodged any questions with regard to what we're looking for.

We're looking for someone who can come in and help develop a list that we think needs some development.

That doesn't mean that we're closing our minds off to any particular senior coach.

We want someone who is good on a tactical game day.

We want someone who can educate our players effectively.

I think in the number of interviews that I've done over the past four or five weeks, we've been pretty clear on what we want into the future.

The reality is I'm not feeling in any way encumbered by the decisions of this club in the past.

I've got no agency over those.

All I can be doing is trying to make the best decisions for the club into the future with a CEO who has an extensive history in the game as well.

So

I accept that over the past period of time, because I've heard it coming into this club, that we haven't had the success that our supporters want over the past 30 years.

But I think to have anyone right now in this position who's feeling pressure based on previous decisions, I'd be doing them a disservice.

So we're looking forward.

It doesn't mean that...

But we're in on either an experienced coach or a non-experienced coach.

What we want is the best coach for the Carlton Footy Club in the future.

And I'm sure that we're going to be working really hard to try and achieve that.
