It cuts Social Security.
It cuts Medicare.
It cuts Medicaid.
It cuts veterans benefits.
All the things the Democrats stand for, it cuts.
Education, it cuts.
Health care, cuts.
His position is, well, or was, well, but if there's a shutdown, they get to choose what's being cut, and it's going to be so much worse.
The Republican Party run the House.
They run the Senate.
They run the executive office.
Some would argue they run the judicial branch.
And so they're going to do it anyway.
What Democrats want, what Americans want, what working people want is they want to know that someone is willing to fight for them.
Someone is willing to get in the fight.
So this was not a vote about whether or not
you would vote for the GOP partisan bill.
This was a vote about whether or not you were willing to fight and take that fight to the American people and let the Republicans be responsible for the government shutdown.
They would have been responsible for it.
