That hasn't been used for a long time.
And the last time that it was used, as far as I can recall, I mean, I did go to graduate from law school in 1994.
So it's been a long time since I've studied the Alien Act.
But as I recall, we used that act during wartime, during World War II, to intern Japanese Americans, citizens.
And that remains a stain on this country.
So the fact that the president would attempt to invoke that act, the Alien Act, to Americans,
without due process in front of an immigration judge, because that is the process that should be used to then defy a judicial order and send people that are here in the United States.
And by the way, once you reach the United States, you too are protected by the U.S.
Constitution, whether or not you have a visa, a green card, or are undocumented.
the Constitution still applies to you because you are on U.S.
soil, you cannot defy a judicial order.
And so the real question is not whether or not this press secretary, the youngest one in history who does not have a law degree, is saying 67 or 60.
The real question is, does the executive branch
have the right to disregard a federal judicial order.
They do not.
And what I would like people to start thinking about, Don,
is the fact that for a long time um you know the the supreme court and i hate to become a legal nerd here but the supreme court has the lowest approval rating that it's had for a long time so we finally heard from the chief justice uh who said you can't just impeach you just can't impeach federal judges that's not the way to do it what we need to be listening more to is what he did not say
What he did not say is you cannot thwart a judicial order, a federal judicial order.
That judge told the executive branch, turn the plane around.
This is not your jurisdiction.
