We've all heard about when people, anonymized accounts made very significant money about, are based on information that things were going to happen before they ultimately came to the rest of the world. matched

Well, all of these questions and more I'm now going to put to our next guest because as a large portion of the population aren't planning for a pension that they need and AI seems to have an inbuilt urge not to read older people's CVs, Clare Bard, Consumer Editor with the FT, wants to explore this more. matched

First off, Clare, I looked at the statistics for Europe and the number of employees aged 55 or older in the EU rose from 23.8 million in 2010 to nearly 40 million in 2023 due to higher retirement ages, longer life expectancy and better health. matched

On that note, though, Clare, it's interesting in your piece that you had in the FT this week about this. matched

You said 48% of self-employed individuals in the UK are age 50 or older, and that's the highest proportion in a decade and an 18% increase in the past 10 years. matched
