Clare, I was reading your piece last Saturday morning over breakfast and I really was intrigued by the fact that you spoke about preparation for retirement, not in the context of do people have pensions or are people saving enough for them, although you do refer to that. matched

But what I really liked about this was that you actually looked at how one can preserve the resilience of their older age by virtue of considering how employable they were. matched

Actually, I got that from a European report as opposed to your own piece there, apologies. matched

But that point about, as you say, the sandwich generation, is it also the case, Clare, and of course the likelihood is this is more likely to be a woman than a man, that caregiving requires more and therefore that presents a gap perhaps in one's CV where they're gathering an enormous amount of extremely valuable life experience, but they're not in an office or in a theatre or in a hospital or in a classroom at the time. matched

Well, when we think about the great talent that they're getting, the likelihood is that there will be more of it available for longer as well by virtue of the fact that you mentioned this, 5 million Britons aged 4 to 9 to 55 may need to work an extra year if the pension gets brought forward from 67 to 68. matched
