And that is very much like being in business meetings.
You can have the, you know, the best qualifications in the world, a fantastic job description.
But if you don't own that space and have the presence to be able to share your opinions, it's a wasted opportunity.
And so I saw the connection between those two and created a methodology, which is not... People often think that I'm a vocal coach, which I'm not, literally because I sang.
Obviously, there's the performance side, but I go right back to the beginning.
So...
If I were thinking about a meeting, I would think about the purpose.
When I was a singer, I was thinking about who I would be performing for, the venue, information about the piece of music, because there was a purpose there.
There's always a story attached, a message.
And then the content.
learning it and self preparing self how to practice but also how to prepare yourself so you're calm yes um and then the performance side and the voice yeah so so all of those things I did before as a musician so I have moved that into business situation yeah
absolutely so everything I often have programs so as we speak there's one that I'm launching later this month and that's in a hybrid format yeah and I often run those and organizations can either book me to speak or do master classes facilitate workshops and and I do coaching yeah
Do you know, as we speak, I've got a new agent who quite rightly said that she wouldn't use my TEDx talk
to demonstrate because otherwise everyone will expect me to sing when I speak you sing for yourself I presume I sing for myself now yes I'm um I'm singing at a wedding which is going to be quite interesting because um the groom who I've known since he was a baby is a brass player you know these brass band I and the brass band are singing at the wedding and I'm singing at the wedding
because other people are watching you.
They're assessing you.
They're listening to you.
They're responding.
And I actively encourage people not to be like me, not to mimic me.
Quite a few coaches will say, this is the way of doing it.
