And when I chatted to the women's players before the World Cup in England, a lot of them had obviously just come off the back of Paris 24.

And they were kind of saying like that was just the ultimate goal.

Obviously the World Cup was going to be huge.

And it was, and especially for women's rugby, it it did great things.

But I just don't think you can top the Olympics.

Sive McGrath, who I think she was up in Belfast, or she might be so she's based in Dublin.

She's studying in I think it's DIT or TCU, but I'd have to double check that.

But she essentially the women's the IRU centrally contracted players are back in Ireland camp this week as well.

So they've been in the HPC out in Blanchardstown on Monday Tuesday, and then they're commuting to their various provinces to train Tuesday nights, Thursday nights

And then play Saturday.

So I don't actually know where I was talking to Sive, but it was over Zoom anyway.

Um and she was just she's the only player I was chatting to out of the three who it wasn't her debut.

So she had actually played for Ulster before.

And she was um she got her first cap in twenty twenty three when she was just eighteen years old, but actually hasn't played since, just because she was sidelined with injury in twenty four and twenty five.

and then or sorry, in twenty four and then obviously in twenty twenty five they were at the World Cup.

So I was just chatting to her about what it was like to be back, but also she had a really good um insight into how the competition has changed since she first started playing.

And has the competition itself changed?

I know you were sidelined for a couple of years with injury, and then obviously last year you were involved in the World Cup, so you missed those interpros, but has the competition changed since you would have played in it?

Yeah, and I suppose as well with like the World Cup last year, just the growth of women's rugby in general and people kind of noticing it, I feel like I've seen a lot more on Instagram and just stuff like that about this year's competition.
