So I'm always wary of averages when we're talking about people earning such, such low pay.

But I mean, if we were to base wages on any company's ability to pay them, then we'd all be earning way, way, way lower than we currently are.

A wage has to come from what do I need in order to be able to pay for the essentials?

Like that's what a living wage, you know, is designed to do, as opposed to saying, well, actually, well, you know, what can I afford to pay my staff?

If we were to base wages on that, I think we'd probably all be in trouble.

But, you know, again, I appreciate like it is it's tough out there.

It has always been tough out there.

I mean, I can happily chat, you know, returns per square foot and margins and all of that kind of stuff.

You know, it is it's retail is really, really difficult.

People are operating off low margins.

But again, I think if you want to attract staff into this, if you actually want people who are prepared to stand all day to, you know, to take whatever's coming at them from behind the counter, you know, again, you know, a decent wage is going to have to be part of that conversation.
