We try to fight back a little bit and they'll say something like, oh, I thought you guys were the party of love and kindness.

It's like a way to oppress people or repress people, I would say.

Kind of make them repress their thoughts and feelings and emotions.

And I'm like,

well you thought wrong right i'm not um and i've said from the get-go i'm like look i'm not trying to win the best liberal comp competition that's maybe some of you have decided that's that's a competition that exists but i am not i am not ideologically perfect i still shop at big box stores that some of you probably think i shouldn't and you know what okay i'm doing the best i can

I think most people are doing the best they can.

I have never set out to kind of win over the approval of everybody.

I've been very deliberate about the audience I want to attract.

And I'm so grateful for that because even when I consulted clients, when I was in corporate America, before I did this full time, we would always say that like four to 7% turnover is good.

Like you want, if you're not having any turnover at an organization, that's actually a really bad sign.

So I'm fine if I'm not for everybody.

And I try really hard not to just capitulate to the moment.

I completely agree.

I mean, even I sitting down on this podcast, right?

It's like, I'm sure you and I don't agree on 100% of things, right?

But it's, it's not to say that, by us are by us being on a podcast episode together, I endorse everything you've ever believed and vice versa.

And there can be some of that, like weird,

chatter where you know i'll sit down with an elected official and sometimes it'll just be about one specific topic let's just say climate and someone will be like oh you're okay with them doing xyz and i'm like well one i didn't even know they did that because i'm not i'm not a political machine right like that's not what i'm trying you're not on twitter all day long

And thank God, I actually just deleted the Threads app off my phone.

That's my mental health protection for the week.
