what it's done for New Zealand has been quite phenomenal too.

So it wouldn't hurt the game here if we were to have a team over there.

And I can't quite believe that I'm saying that because for a long time I thought that it was the wrong thing to do for our players to go over and play in Australia.

We're also going to be very interested to see how the Silver Ferns who have played in the SSN game

have feared, whether it has been of a great benefit for them to be playing against what essentially is stronger competition week in, week out.

And I guess the Commonwealth Games later this month is going to be the proof in that pudding.

To be honest, this really should have been settled four months ago, before this competition started.

That's the way that it's usually done, that they know that far ahead that there's going to be another season and basically what it will look like.

But this plunging everybody into this doubt is...

is really concerning.

It's eroding public confidence and, you know, really damaging the sports reputation.

Yeah, I do, actually.

I think knowing the turmoil that the sport was in, especially not so much at grassroots, you know, that thankfully that very strong netball-following

and netball participation in the regions, that has all stayed strong in this situation, but it's really at the very top of the sport where it's being turned upside down.

Well, it started with last year's decision over the future of the league, but also with the decision to stand down Dame Noeline Taurua.

and the snowball effect that that has had.

The sport almost has to go through a rebirth stage, and that may be very, very uncomfortable for a year or two until things settle down with, you know, a whole new top office.

And, you know, we don't even know whether Dame Noeline Taurua will still be the coach after the Commonwealth Games, her contract ends.

pretty much straight after that.

And, you know, there may in fact be another Silver Ferns coach for next year's World Cup.
