I am a director on the Lansdowne Conservancy Board, but tonight I speak as a resident of Loudoun about Route 7, the gateway to our county and a defining visual landscape of Lansdowne, Belmont, and One Loudoun.
Dominion's proposed industrial infrastructure along this corridor.
Will have a lasting negative effect on our quality of life and our homeowner investments.
Lansdowne has actively opposed these plans from the start.
We invested in the exploration of alternate routes and undergrounding.
We participated in hearings and in litigation.
As citizens, we have done everything in our power to bring some common sense to these expansive plans, which show so little regards to the government.
For our communities.
Despite our efforts, Dominion keeps using non-disclosure agreements for service to data centers that are not yet even built, only informing us about the decisions after they are finalized.
Yesterday, Dominion announced plans to merge with Next Era, forming the world's largest power utility company.
Energy analysts already warn.
That regulating such a massive mega monopoly will be nearly impossible, especially given next era's history of influencing favorable outcomes.
Tonight I ask our board, please exercise whatever remaining power over Loudoun that you might have, especially as it pertains to the development of Route 7.
