The good news is that once we finish this first go-round of creating the action plans, future ones or future updates to the plans for years two, three, and four will be much faster because we've already laid the foundation by creating these initial action plans.

This slide here shows the goal teams that we've currently formed to address all the goals in the strategic plan.

Today you all will hear from goal team number one, which is education and quality of life, as well as goal team number four, the mobility team.

So now I would like to introduce Ms.

Jennifer Patterson, who's the director of library services and one of the co-leads for the education and quality of life goal team.

Good afternoon, Madam Chair, members of the board.

Again, I'm Jennifer Patterson, library director, and also the goal sponsor of Strategic Goal Team 1, Education and Quality of Life.

This is a list of the team members.

Today we will be covering one of the education goal objectives.

So the education goal statement

is advanced high quality learning opportunities that enrich residents and build and strengthen an educated and skilled workforce.

We will be covering number five today, engage

existing and new county businesses to expand workforce options that attract and retain residents and help businesses be successful.

And what I really appreciate is making sure that we are reaching out to the community and having that type of civic engagement and community input.

So it isn't so much our plan, but their plan as well.

And that really, I think those have been really great.

I just want to highlight a couple things about small business development, because that's so critically important.
