The adopted year is January 1 through December 31st, 2025.
However, the execution year for year one will be July 1, 2025 through June 30th, 2026.
As far as the implementation process, you all adopted the strategic plan on July 25th of this year.
This time around, Mr. Shorter and executive management wanted to be much more intentional and focused with our approach as far as implementation.
So we formed cross-functional teams made up of staff from across the county organization.
This new approach will allow us to stay aligned, break down silos, and move in the same direction together.
This new approach, we also established the six teams and they are comprised of about 10 to 13 people per team.
Those are the core members, but then we also have additional contributors and partners that the team members reach out to as needed.
Every team includes representation from key departments and partners and subject matter experts.
To prepare for this implementation process, all teams in April of this year participated in training with our strategic planning consultants.
And in that training, they were given a framework, a clear framework for building actionable work plans.
Since May of this year, our teams have been working diligently for creating detailed action plans that will guide our work over the next several years.
Since our four-year strategic plan has 41 objectives, the teams were instructed to create 41 work plans, and that's a lot of work for them.
So each objective has an actual work plan attached to it.
Development of each plan takes multiple meetings plus extra time in between to gather data and input from our contributors and partners.
Each action plan translates its objective into clear annual steps.
The plans outline specific projects, initiatives, and activities with timelines and identify the agencies responsible for carrying out each part of the work.
Our target date to complete all of the action plans is late January of next year, so we're almost done.
These action plans are designed to be flexible.
Every year teams will reassess progress and update the one-year timelines based on what's moving faster, what's taking a little bit longer, and what circumstances may have changed that would require us to reassess those action plans.
