Today, I am joined by actress Tahira Sharif to talk about her gripping new lifetime movie, Girl in the Coffin.
Tahira plays Jasmine, a young woman grieving the recent death of her mother, who finds comfort in Bill, the seemingly compassionate funeral director who handled her mother's service.
but his kindness masks a terrifying obsession and when jasmine wakes up trapped inside a coffin beneath his funeral home she realizes the man she trusted has become her captor so this movie really makes me think about cases like colleen stan who was kidnapped in 1977 when she was just 20 years old and held captive for seven years
spending long periods confined in a coffin-like box.
And Colleen's case became an extraordinary example of the power of fear and psychological control.
And Girl in the Coffin taps into some of the most chilling dynamics that we've seen play out in real-life crimes.
Predators who target people at their most vulnerable, the terrifying power of isolation and psychological control, and victims who have to learn to understand and sometimes outsmart the person holding them captive.
