Our social contract says, that's what our laws say.
It's like, this is your punishment for breaking the law.
We're going to remove you from the community.
The punishment shouldn't be, you don't get dental care if you've got a toothache.
You don't get cancer treatment if you've got cancer.
You don't get to call your kids.
every day you don't get to um have period products if you get your period in prison you don't get to you know like have nutritious healthy food you don't get to make a decision about if you want to do this job or that job like you it's yeah that's why i say it's like we need a redesign
No, and like I say at the start of all of this, like it's different for everyone.
Everyone's experience is different.
Some people know when they're going to get out of prison.
They got a parole date.
They apply for parole.
They have to prove they've got all of the factors like housing, support, et cetera, et cetera, like to get the parole, to get out into the community.
