So it's not like I really have a preference, but I do have emotional bias towards Joe with the San Diego story and all that.

So yeah, just hoping the best for Joe.

And Pavetta, he looks done, which really sucks.

And I hope the Padres are going to be good human beings about it.

I'm not saying you pick up the options, but hopefully they offer him a two-year deal and be like, hey,

We're not going to pick up the options for this amount of money.

Hopefully you understand.

It's not personal.

It's just based on your injury situation.

And we need to still fill out this rotation and fill out this team in the offseason.

But hopefully they still can offer him a two-year due and be like, hey, we want you, just maybe not at that price tag.

And if he doesn't like that, then maybe you just have to move on.

So there's that.

Then there's the ownership change.

In the UT today, Padres new owners are on track to take over in the middle, by the middle of this month, a small committee.

I didn't know this was, I thought it was just going to go to a 22 or 29 other owners voting, but I guess there was a small committee of team owners on Monday, approved the transfer of ownership to a group led by Jose Feliciano and Quanta Jones, setting the stage for an unexpected vote by all of the other 29 owners next week.

The sale must be approved by 22 of those owners.

The sale is expected to officially close the week of August 17th.

The only other thing that was like notable here was the new owners were said by team sources to have been aware of the Padres commitment of additional payroll of about $6 million to add starting pitchers, Casey Mize and Robbie Ray at Monday's trade deadline, which it's not really notable, I guess.
