And then I met a young man called Eduard Zak, and suddenly inspiration struck.
And the star-crossed lovers came blazing to life in my love for Eduard.
And for the first time I realized how my passion could become the inspiration of my music.
Then my passion could become the form which guided my music.
Was that not possible?
It was not quite possible.
And then, unfortunately, some three years later...
Life proved how horribly it can imitate art when my beloved Edouard, perplexed and ashamed at his aberrant nature, took his own life.
I was devastated.
I have never loved anyone as much as him.
But you see, I had done something magical.
Because in the overture, I had captured his spirit and made him immortal.
In that, he can never die.
As long as that overture is played, my Edward lives again.
You see, the ancient gods of Greece and Rome had power to turn their lovers into constellations.
I have only the power to turn them into music.
But as Mercutio says, it is enough.
It will serve.
No consolation to his parents and no consolation in the end to me.
