So I think if you were, say, a supermarket or a bar and you're looking to make your brand look fun for the summer and you've got the option of the World Cup, which is putting everybody's country flags, I'm sure everybody's seen it, all that bunting everywhere.

It looks fun.

It feels fresh.

It actually doesn't feel too blokey, so you're not even putting off the women.

It's just like a nice, fun thing compared to tatty old bunting from Pride.

which a lot of people know is associated with all sorts of dubious messages that you don't want your brand next to, just feels like a no-brainer to me.

I honestly think, to a certain extent, it's just that it just feels kind of done.

It's just done.

So those are my seven reasons.

It's a pretty long list, but I think it's really worth understanding each of those reasons separately and realizing that there's now a really big menu of reasons to drop this stuff.

And it's quite convenient if you're looking to save some budget.

It's also convenient if you yourself have realized that there's more to this stuff than you originally realized, even if it's not your role to do all this marketing stuff.

You've now got a menu of reasons to show to the decision makers and say, look at all this stuff.

Is this really a good use of our time?

So...

If you're a senior leader who wants to quietly move your organisation away from all the trans and LGBT pride agenda for ideological reasons, you've now got a really long menu of respectable sounding, frankly, excuses to choose from.

So you never actually have to say...

I think this is a huge mistake and we never should have done it in the first place.

So I'm wondering if it will be this pile up of practical reasons that finally brings the whole thing to a halt rather than anyone ever admitting that it was a mistake to back this movement in the first place, certainly without understanding it properly.

So that's where we are.
