When I got up to the desk, I gave her my social security card and she said, well, I need your birth certificate too.

And I said, oh, I didn't realize I had to have my birth certificate.

I guess I can go back home and get it.

And she stopped and she said, no, that's okay.

Don't worry about that.

But Tanya wasn't in the clear just yet.

When she asked me for my birth date, I blurted out my real birth date instead of the birth date that I put on my social security card.

So that was it.

The nurse came over and she said, what did you want?

I said, a little girl.

And she said, what do you think you got?

I said, a little boy.

And she put her in my arms and she said, do you got your little girl?

I didn't want anything to do with him after that.

Took my wedding band off and threw it out in the yard and decided that was it.

Time moved on, we continued to see each other and he had said he was thinking that he would like to be with me for the rest of his life.

So one evening he asked me to go for a ride and he took me to a spot where he used to fish.

He said it was his favorite spot.

It was along the river and it was quiet and it was serene and just beautiful.

And he proposed to me.
