Senate Bill 791 was introduced just days after Democratic Governor Wes Moore signed a law prohibiting state and local law enforcement from deputizing officers for ICE activity.
Moore said that municipalities could still work with federal agencies in some capacity, especially when it comes to violent offenders.
SB 791 is aimed at eliminating cooperation with immigration and customs enforcement agents from all local jurisdictions in Maryland.
different proposal, Senate Bill 660, would require law enforcement to respond to reports of ICE activity, observe, record what happens on body cameras, and file reports on it.
Some Maryland sheriffs gathered at the state capitol on Wednesday to voice opposition to the bills, saying the legislation takes away local autonomy.

Pawtucket police say 75-year-old Gerald Dorgan died of his injuries after being shot by his former son-in-law at a high school hockey game earlier this month.
Dorgan was sitting with his daughter Rhonda and grandson Aiden, celebrating his other grandson's senior night game.
Police say Robert Dorgan opened fire, killing Rhonda and Aiden before turning the gun on himself when others tried to subdue him.
Gerald Dorgan's wife Linda and a family friend were also shot and are still in the hospital.
Pawtucket police say the guns Robert Dorgan used were purchased legally and that he had a license to carry in Florida.
Officials are trying to determine if he had a license to carry in Rhode Island as well.

The 33rd anniversary commemoration remembers the six victims who died in the first terror attack at the World Trade Center.
On February 26, 1993, a small cell of terrorists detonated about 1,200 pounds of explosives in a rental van in the underground parking garage at the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.
It created a five-story, 150-foot-wide crater, killing six and hurting more than 1,000 others.
Some of the 1993 survivors would go on to become dual survivors, living through both the bombing and the 9-11 attacks.
The ceremony will include the reading of victims' names and a moment of silence.
